HPTSTUF Michael Wittmann 22.4.1914-8.8.44. A client sent me this picture. Regardless of how we view things now, Michael Wittmann was an outstanding tank commander commanding Tiger tanks for the last part of his military career. What a career that was! I am ashamed of the fact that in this day and age the German people regard the German military as something to be disdained. This is an appalling state of affairs. Germany has moved on and has become an economic power house. Its people should look at their modern military as an asset to that power house. HPTSTUF Michael Wittmann was just using what was available to him at that time to do what he wanted most in his life: to command a Tiger tank. This he did with amazing efficiency, skill and bravery. God rest his soul and his Tiger crew.
